UR '15 > Chanel Resort '15

{{Happy New Year 2 U}} Congratulations, you've made it through one more year. And now, you can do whatever it is you set your mind to. Because why? Because it’s our New Year's Resolution, and obviously we're going to accomplish it! Obviously. || Mine is to be more peaceful. (Whatever that means, but I've been watching Almost Famous and listening to a lot of Janis Joplin, and it just feels right.) Oh, and to wear makeup more in public. (That one was influenced by my grandmother.)

\\ Anyways, to get on with it - have you ever looked at actual runway photos like Chanel, Prada or (my favorite) Versace, and been like "wtf?" Well, they’re all very beautiful but maybe one day they will show us how to wear these pieces and still look seminormal, but until then,  I try to find similar items I can wear without being so loud and out there. (I will not let you look like a drag queen either, I promise.) I've picked a few outfit choices from the Resort 2015 Collection by Chanel and paired them with a few looks and pieces I've found you can wear any day, anywhere. || Champagne taste on an Appletini (a little on the sweet side) budget.

For my first pick, I fell in love with these midi maxi dresses. I love the two floral prints mixed together, and the way both tops are cut remind me of spring. I would honestly save money for 10 years to buy these dresses. The everyday imitation I chose is this adorable, Aztec sequin “Pretty In The City” dress from Posh 41 Boutique [@POSHFORTYONE].

Okay, so my favorite imitation look so far is for this Chanel Resort 2015 dress. I think the runway one is amazing, but this Julianne Hough look + this chevron print (yeah, I know it’s dead) ensemble. HOW CUTE ARE THEY. How mod are they? And with simple nude heels or black booties. But ATTENTION: The higher the hem, the lower the heel. Just saying. I got your back.

BELL BOTTOMS. You have to know I love bell bottoms by now. And since colored jeans are in right now and bell bottoms are a classic, WHY NOT MIX THEM? And really, all this look is about is a classic jean and a classic white button down tucked in. And you know what that means? She’s classy. And we all wanna be kl@ssy. The bell bottoms I chose are probably my personal favorite out of all the pieces I chose for this blog post. Seriously, I sleep in them. They’re that cool – Tobacco Bells by Tribe Kelley (@TRIBEKELLEY).

The thing I like most about this shot is the fact that they are mixing patterns, fabric, sequins, everything. I like the idea of mixing heavy metals with soft or delicate fabric. That’s why I chose this adorable black lace dress mixed with the heavy jewelry and unhidden zipper from Bobby V Boutique (@BOBBYVBOUTIQUE). You could wear it simple like this or with dark stockings, black booties, and a simple leather jacket. From day to night, thanks to a few accessories.

Okay, we are almost done here. I actually got this idea from a piece of luggage. But when you see it, you’ll get it. I chose these two strapless shift dresses with the most beautiful geometric shapes based on the pattern on the Chanel bag. How cool are the colors though. They’re abnormally paired. And abnormal is my middle name. I actually don’t know where these dresses are from, but atleast it gives you an idea.

And finally \\  a Chanel Resort 2015 golden, gas can clutch. Because who doesn’t want a golden gas can? And with the money I’m saving on gas right now (knock on wood) I could save up and buy me a Chanel golden, gas can clutch. Obviously. Not really.

So now that you’re all sharpened up on your Chanel looks, maybe you should go shopping tomorrow. Treat yo self. You deserve it. {{See, I’m being more peaceful already.}}

XOXO, Andrea

Sweater Weather

South Mississippi: Nike shorts and t-shirt on Christmas' Eve........a sweater, scarf, boots, ear muffs, and thick boots on Christmas. You gotta love waking up to the oddest weather on the face of the Earth. So in honor of the cold front that's taking over, I'm going to go on and on about how friggin' cold it is and how sweaters are my best friends at the moment.

Each winter I accumulate at least 30 and each Spring I end of giving them all away, which leads to the next winter when I'm stuck with none and have to buy forty all over again. Right now (of course) I'm into thick, wool sweaters, but that'll probably change within the next fifteen minutes. So, I'm gonna go ahead and post this before I change my mind. And of course I've added a few of my favorites that you can buy online (for cheap, duh).

So, here it goes ---

First things first, Cara Loren is absolutely adorable in her thin sweater matching her chunky heel ankle boots.

Okay, so I LOVE how she has the striped shirt under the sweater. Which goes to show you CAN in fact wear brown and black together. Throw that old shat out the window.

Ah, a sweater with a short skirt. Comfortable and cute at the same time. And with tights. I honestly don't think you can go wrong. (You really can, but it's not WHAT you wear, it's HOW you wear it. Rock that glitter girl.)

Grey on grey is super chic, too. Christa Jayne from fashionorfamine.com styled this sweater so simply, but you wouldn't think it just by looking at it. (Fyi, the word simple goes a long way when you're the mom of a three year old diva. Trust me.)

Colored jeans: I personally can't seem to find any that I think I can pull off, but she can. I love the burnt orange color. It's very festive to me. And since its Christmas time, festive is the thing to be.

Last but not least, I love the sweater with the lighter jean. A lot of people forget that light jeans do actually exist, and when paired with the right thing, you won't look like an 80's pop star. (Acid wash, light jeans, you know.)

And it's time for me to inform you on where to get some of the chicest, most affordable sweaters.

White long sleeve tribal print Mohair sweater. sheinside.com

                {because don't we all}

"I Have Issues" Sweater. Burger And Friends (Etsy)

"Shark bite" sweater. Lotusboutique.com

And with cold weather brings good hair. And that's all that matters really.

XOXO Andrea
